God created you to be in relationship with your family, your friends and even your enemies, in such a way that would bring joy and fulfillment to all.  Sure, He can't change your will or theirs, but He can change circumstances to bring about a willingness of heart that can lead to reconciliation.  As long as you attempt to make things right, God will let you do it your way, but if you yield to His ways, then He will get right into the middle of the situation and bring about complete reconciliation.  He wants there to be reconciliation in your relationship much more than you.  He is just waiting on you to work with Him through the process.

1. The first step is to acknowledge before God and others your own failure to walk in love, no matter how large or small it was on your part. 
2. The second step is to ask God and others for their forgiveness for whatever you did or didn't say or do.  ("Will you forgive me for __________?) 
3. Finally, the third step, is to trust God for the outcome, whether they forgive you or not.  If you will get out of God's way, He will bring the conviction and reconciliation between you and your loved one or enemy, in His perfect timing!
