For 2004 - This is Oregon's Time. . .

In short, Oregon has become a state where Spiritual Intercessors abound and even prophets are beginning to notice, increase in number, and come from far places to further decree that Oregon is the state whose people protect the Prophets.  This used to be the state where one might say, "Why do none of the prophets ever come here." Now, just a few years after that was true, we are hearing from others, "Why do the prophets all come to Oregon and not our state?" 

As prophesied by several prophets recently, including Todd Bentley, Kim Clement, Dutch Sheets, and Chuck Pierce, we are called--here in Oregon-- to take out "Jezebel" which will facilitate revival around the globe. As a result, what we pray for and prophesy and decree from this state, will help (along with other states of course----but there is a special anointing in this state) to determine much of what happens in revival nationwide and worldwide.  Oregon humbly accepts this as a real task God has given to us.  But the battle, as a result is very strong.

The Major battles raging have to do with:

1) A fight for same-sex marriage by many in the legislature and the population. The largest/most populous county, Multnomah County, where Portland, Oregon is located, began to be one of the first counties and cities after San Francisco to defy the law and offer same sex-marriage certificates.  

Prayer Directive: Ask the God will stop any legislative attempts to allow at the county of state level, all Same Sex Marriages .

2) A fight in Oregon on the Death-with-Dignity (legal suicide) Law.  Publicly proud of their progress, we can find this at http://www.deathwithdignity.org/   (This is clearly not an organization that we endorse) From their own "braggadocios site (above), we read:  "The Death with Dignity National Center (DDNC) is the organization that has successfully proposed, passed, defended and helped implement a first-in-the nation law that allows terminally ill individuals meeting stringent safeguards, to hasten their own deaths. ...The Death with Dignity law has become the national catalyst for reform in end-of-life care.  Physicians, journalists and pundits across the nation, have lauded Oregon's Death with Dignity law as a dynamic consciousness-raiser"

Prayer Directive: Ask that God will OVERTURN Oregon's law --Making Oregon, instead of the state that invites people to move here to legally take their lives, to the state where people come to be healed miraculously and receive life.

3)  Because the Prophets have told us that we, in Oregon, have been assigned the task of taking out Jezebel (which kills the prophets, among other things), Pray this . .

Prayer Directive:  Pray that Prophets will flock here in larger and larger numbers to defy the prophets of Baal and the Spirit of Jezebel and throw that spirit down...not as an act of the flesh but by the Blood of Jesus. Pray that no one will try to take on Jezebel alone (which is not safe to do unless they are called and anointed by God to do so) but corporately, in larger and larger corporate gatherings to, in UNITY, stand against that which stands against God and his Servants and friends, the PROPHETS.

4)  Oregon is often called and indeed proven to be the LEAST-CHURCHED STATE IN THE NATION.

Prayer Directive:  Pray that more and more institutional churches will be birthed, more and more home churches will be birthed, and more and more market place churches will be birth. Pray that the Church Paradigm for the nation and indeed in the world will be changed and re-defined in Oregon, as a model to the world.

A)   Bob Jones -  Check the Shepherd’s Rod for 2004, especially the “7” -  In a visionary experience, Bob saw a map of the United States with the number seven (7) superimposed over the map. This was to spiritually indicate that a work of completion had been accomplished in a number of people prepared for a fresh release from the throne of Heaven. The places that the number seven laid across the map indicated a unique release of the Spirit in those areas.  That is not to indicate that it is the exclusive place in which the Lord is releasing a deposit of His Spirit. Rather, it is strictly highlighting this area for an extraordinary expression of God to be demonstrated by those specifically prepared for this purpose.  The emblem of the seven seemed to begin along the Gulf coast and expand at an angle toward the northeast with the region of New Hampshire forming the upper most portion of the numerical symbol. From there it extended across the northern portion of the United States and Canada to the West Coast and made a slight turn down around Oregon and California.  There is a finished work that has been fulfilled in a body of people who will be brought close to the Lord and His throne to hear fresh expressions from His heart. Seven is the number symbolic of completion to indicate the maturing that has transpired in those to be used by the Holy Spirit.  As the vision continued, Bob also saw another numerical seven; however, this one was inverted. This was also to indicate the completed and maturing work that has been accomplished in the realm of darkness through those who oppose the work of the cross and the Church of the Lord Jesus.  Our adversary has been at work in a body of people to equip them in the realms of darkness to oppose the fresh dimension of Heaven being unleashed in this hour. The Lord indicated that His Light will always overcome darkness and we should not be threatened by this increased opposition. When we submit ourselves to Him in complete trust, He will go before us in the battle.

B)   Chuck Pierce and Dutch Sheets – Oregon will have (or has) the authority to see the Jezebel Spirit torn down over the entire nation.

C)  Bob Jones – The greatest revival ever will begin in Oregon and Washington and see Russia evangelized.

D)  Kim Clement in January 2004 –  (There is) such a strong prophetic atmosphere in the Northwest that God has chosen to raise up some of the greatest prophets and apostles out of this region. This anointing is present so that God gets all of the glory.  It may be access into the Babylonian Kingdom.  I feel like that may be it.  In other words that we could be bordering on probably the greatest harvest that the world, the church or the world has ever seen.  God wants to give you access to Babylonian system.  It’s time for us to access the billions and trillions of dollars that are available right now.  There are people out there that are going to do it because of the wisdom of God that’s about to come upon you.

E) Patricia King at the Oregon Dedication Celebration in October, 2003 –   A word for this region.  Bridal rule.  Esther.  Haman.  Mordecai.  Esther issued a new decree that enabled the Jews to annihilate their enemies.  Youth, fire in the youth, equipping and sending.  A huge release through the youth.  Highways, byways and in and out of dark places in the strength of the Lord.

State Published History of Oregon: Establishment of Oregon Territory

European exploration of the Pacific Northwest from the late 1500s through the 1700s led to multiple and overlapping territorial claims by Spain, Russia, France, Britain, and last but not least, the new American republic. At issue was the vast "Oregon Country" extending along the Pacific Coast from the northern edge of Spanish California on the 42nd parallel to the southern edge of "Russian America" (now Alaska) at 54 degrees 40 minutes north.

How this area became known as "Oregon" is murky at best. Some have suggested that the word originated in the Mississippi Valley; others surmise that it stems from the French word for storm, ouragan, or the Spanish words oye agua, meaning "hear the water." Most historical accounts agree that English Army Major Robert Rogers first wrote the term "Ouragon" in an unsuccessful 1765 petition to explore the American West. American Captain Jonathan Carver used "Oregon" to refer to the fabled "River of the West" in his 1778 book, Travels Through the Interior Parts of North America.

In 1803, Thomas Jefferson referred to "Oregon" in his instructions to Meriwether Lewis for the Lewis and Clark expedition. The name gained wide exposure and an almost mythical aura when William Cullen Bryant used the name Oregon in his poem "Thanatopsis," published in 1817.

Most European nations had retreated from Oregon by the early 1800s, leaving only Great Britain and the United States to vie for the tract. Britain's claim to "New Albion" dated from the late 1700s, thanks in large part to Captain George Vancouver's expedition, and was reinforced by the traders and "factors" (agents) of the Hudson's Bay Company. The pendulum swung toward the American position after Captain Robert Gray crossed the Columbia bar on May 11, 1792, followed by the 1804-1806 Lewis & Clark expedition and the establishment of Fort Astoria in 1811.

When the War of 1812 was settled at Ghent on December 24, 1812, Britain and the U.S. agreed to form a joint commission to resolve boundary disputes. One result of that agreement was the Treaty of Joint Occupation of Oregon, signed on October 20, 1818. American and British citizens in Oregon then went about their business, mostly without incident. The joint occupancy treaty was renewed in 1827.

During this period of cohabitation, British and American citizen groups met often to discuss mutual needs and grievances. The most important of these civic gatherings were the "Wolf Meetings" at Champoeg on the lower Willamette River. On May 2, 1843, a vote of 52 to 50 favored a decision to organize into a civil community. On July 5th, this group adopted Oregon's first Organic Laws.

Americans streamed into the Oregon Country, and Great Britain's influence began to wane. Some extremists chanted "54-40 or Fight," demanding that U.S. territory extend north of the 54th parallel. Despite this pressure, in the Oregon Treaty of June 15, 1846, the United States agreed to the 49th parallel, which established national boundaries "westward of the Rocky Mountains."

Although the boundary issue appeared to be settled on land, disputes continued for nearly 30 years regarding which was the main channel of separation between American and British islands. The San Juan Islands boundary dispute was finally settled in 1872.

When Indians in what is now Eastern Washington killed settlers led by missionary Marcus Whitman in 1847, pressure increased on the federal government to provide protection and order in the region. Congress passed the "Act to Establish the Territorial Government of Oregon" on August 14, 1848.

Abraham Lincoln declined the territorial governorship and the job went to General Joseph Lane, fresh from the Mexican War. His hanging of five Indians accused in the "Whitman Massacre" signaled that law (if not justice) was finally being imposed in "Oregon Country."

In 1853, Washington Territory split off from Oregon. Oregon and Washington were admitted to the union and became states in 1859 and 1889 respectively.

SHORT HISTORY OF OREGON WITH SPIRITUAL IMPLICATIONS

In March 2000 Oregon Aglow International did a random study of the strongholds and prayer needs of the state. Our theme was "Uniting Oregon in Prayer that they all may be one," from John 17:21.

It is believed that the name "Oregon" comes from the French word "ouragan" or "storm." In 1775 Bruno Hezeta discovered the mouth of the Columbia River. All early discoverers complained of both the strange and rough weather with thick fog. From the early (1800’s) on, there appeared to be confusion about both the climate and the identification of the territory name and boundaries. When the Spanish, Russian, and British entered into rivalry over the sea otter pelt trade, conflict was experienced between England and Spain at Nootka Sound.

When settlers poured into Oregon, divisiveness entered into the boundary and ownership issues of mapping and claiming land. The missionaries came in 1830 and there was much disagreement on how to save the Indians and how to farm. Misconceptions and contradictions followed, along with a presumptuous tendency to apply descriptions of parts of the region as if it were the whole. Therefore much misleading information was published. In the fertile Willamette Valley which Indians named "Valley of Sickness" smallpox, tuberculosis and other sicknesses brought infirmity and death. Much disease, depression, broken covenants and treaties were a severe problem. Indians were very mistreated and misunderstood. Principal battles were fought in the Klamath Mountains, and in Eastern Oregon, with massacres such as the Cayuse War of 1848.

Financial difficulties and rivalry have marked commerce since 1900. The greatest population growth took place in 1930 with a gain of 131 % in 30 years. Land fraud became a problem on transfers of property from public domain to private settlement.

The highlighted words above are still the problems that need prayer in Oregon. Only around 10% of the population are considered Christians. There have been many church splits and there continues to be much alcoholism, drug abuse, domestic violence, teen pregnancy, teen suicide, and unemployment. World views and allegiances are New Age, humanism, cultic. Witchcraft, pride, depression, apathy, independence, a religious spirit, prejudice and injustice are still problems.

Pray that the enemy strongholds over our state will be broken, and that the sovereign purposes of God will be fulfilled for all our cities and communities. Pray that God’s people will unite in continuous and sustained prayer efforts until revival sweeps Oregon.

FINAL PRAYER DIRECTIVE: PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF OREGON

Many say, "Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem" and that we should do..at all times.

My prayer is that we, too, will " PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF OREGON" --FOR WE ARE INDEED A STATE AND PART OF THE NORTHWEST REGION --AT WAR-- ALIGNED WITH THE ARMIES OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD, STANDING AGAINST THE KINGDOM OF SATAN. 

MANY OF GOD'S PROPHETIC PEOPLE ARE HAVING LARGE ATTACKS OF WITCHCRAFT IN THIS STATE. THESE ARE SATAN’S ATTEMPTS TO SHORT CIRCUIT WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO.   HOWEVER, GOD IS NOT WRINGING HIS HANDS WITH WORRY.

GOD STANDS IN TOTAL CONTROL OF OREGON.....YET HE SEEKS OUR CONTINUED PRAYER, FOR THAT WHICH WE ASK AND INDEED, THAT WHICH WE PROCLAIM FROM THIS STATE (ACCORDING TO THE PROPHETS) WE CAN HAVE---IF WE ASK ACCORDING TO HIS WILL!

This will cause structures that are hidden, that are terrorist groups, beginning in 2005, to be exposed. Watch for physical shakings in the natural so spiritual change can come."

CURRENT EVENTS FOR PRAYER REGARDING OREGON:
THE "3 SISTERS VOLCANOES--THE BULGE IN ONCE COULD BECOME A DISASTROUS VOLCANIC ERUPTION.
(AP) -- A recent survey of a bulge that covers about 100 square miles near the South Sister indicates the area is still growing, suggesting it could be another volcano in the making or a major shift of molten rock under the center of the Cascade Range. Spread out across an area nearly as big as the city of Portland, It's centered about three miles southwest of the South Sister, about 25 miles from Bend.

EARTHQUAKES AND TSUNAMIS
Earthquakes off Oregon Coast: "These earthquake swarms are associated with seafloor spreading,'' said Robert P. Dziak, an Oregon State oceanographer who works with NOAA at the university's Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. The quakes are generally small and not a tsunami threat, although a section of the sea floor off the Northwest coast called the Cascadia subduction zone http://www.livescience.com/forcesofnature/050103_cascadia_tsunami.html is similar to the Indian Ocean area that produced a huge earthquake and tsunami that devastated southeast Asia last December.

METH USE
Ted Kulongoski, Oregon Governor, has stated that meth use is an epidemic, and believes it is the major drug threat in this country right now. It has been viewed traditionally as a west coast problem, but has spread across the United States, and is now a major problem throughout America.  We’ve seen it here in Oregon through the increased utilization of our child services division, the police agencies, and the cost to us, the recovery of these homes where meth is created, just a whole series of social problems that have put a strain on our public safety system.

CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT IN OREGON
Much of Oregon's child abuse and neglect is related to the Meth use: Oregon's meth epidemic creates thousands of "orphans," abused and neglected children who fall into the state's care after their parents are arrested

OREGON, ESPECIALLY IN LARGER CITIES, RESISTS FAMILY VALUES
The issues are many. The Civil Union bill--which was to make Oregon one of the first in the Union to have legal civil unions-- was shockingly (to many in the state) voted down. The Saints prayed and won this battle. But we expect many battles to continue in this area. Some of the Counties which need the most prayer related to family values include (but are not limited to) Multnomah (Portland), Benton (Corvallis), Lane (Eugene), and Marion (Salem).

URGENT PROPHETIC PRAYER BULLETIN: "HURRICANE KATRINA AND GAZA -- IS GOD SPEAKING?" -- by Avner Boskey

Katrina and Gaza: is God speaking in New Orleans? "This is what YHVH says, who gives the sun to be a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars to be a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar; YHVH of Armies is His name." Jeremiah 31:35

The past two weeks have seen Israel withdraw from Gaza as a result of (among other things) American policy and pressure. In previous newsletters we have quoted US State Department and Presidential statements to that effect. The rushing onset of Hurricane Katrina is shocking and ominous. Check out www.stratfor.com for the breaking article, "The Geopolitics of Katrina," for the potential strategic damage that could be caused to the U.S. and global economy and petroleum industry as a result of this hurricane. The Port of Southern Louisiana is the USA's largest port, and the fifth largest in the world in terms of tonnage. It is America's key port for grain export. Approximately 25% of U.S.-produced crude oil comes from the Gulf of Mexico.

OREGON AGREES WITH KANSAS---WE ARE TAKING OUR STAND WITH ISRAEL

In an August 22, 2005 prayer directive was sent out by Chuck Pierce, from Earl Pickard, the Kansas SPN state coordinator. In part, he stated:

Throughout one's life and in one's ministry there are significant people, places, scriptures, moments and thoughts, among others, that deeply affect who you are and what you do. A compilation of these things make up one's life or ministry journey that becomes a destiny. Psalm 25 gives a simple mindset of process to ponder. In verse 4&5, "Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long." Through this process of pondering the Lord's ways, paths and truth, the fear of the Lord took deep root in me, with revelation of covenant (v. 14), realizing it involves both the land and the people. The ways, paths and truth of covenant led me both to the past and to the future; to God's covenants with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, with Israel, and to the blood covenant of the Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ (Yeshua). Somehow, the Lord gives one an eternal focus in this process to see God's plans through the ages -- to see Him as the God Who was, Who is and Who is to come, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Holy One of Israel. Too, when one realizes the significance of blessing Israel, praying for the peace of Israel and having all nations come up to Israel, it gives one impetus to focus on, resound to, and minister through and from a view of Israel -- God's firstborn nation. Israel is God's timepiece for nations.

2004 Washington State Prayer Focus

December 14-15, 2003 Washington State became the 31st state visited by Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce. This date was not chosen due to convenience but due to a dream by Steve Schultz, USSPN Oregon State Coordinator. It was one of an impending terrorist attack at a location in Seattle, with what appeared to be underground trams. At the end of the dream Steve heard the Christmas song, The First Noel.

Prior to Thanksgiving and the end of the year, a statewide alert was sent and those flying in and out of SeaTac Airport were asked to pray within the facility, especially if they traveled on the underground trams.

On the night of December 14 approximately 1000 people gathered from across the state and sang The First Noel and declared Jesus Christ, the Son of God, King over Washington. We declared His light would expose all the hidden works of death and destruction in the northwest. We also declared a new course for the state and revival and God’s visitation to the shepherds of the state.

Our destiny is reflected in the first line of our state song, "This is my country; God gave it to me; I will protect it, ever keep it free.” We are to be watchmen over the northwest gateway to the United States. The state ranked 8th among the 50 states in Federal Department of Homeland Security expenditures in fiscal 2003. The agency spent more than $267.4 million in Washington in grants, contracts and salaries. Contributing to Washington State's rank is its border with Canada, its major ports and its public ferry system, the nation's largest. In the last three years — since Sept. 11, 2001 — the number of officers at ports of entry throughout Washington State has doubled.

Shakedown for Treason
On December 15 Chuck prophesied exposure regarding a tie with Syria. September 2, 2004 Spc. Ryan G. Anderson, Washington National Guardsman was sentenced by a military jury to life in prison with eligibility for parole in 20 years for attempting to give aid and intelligence to the enemy. Anderson, a North Seattle resident and Muslim convert, was arrested February 12, 2004 following a government sting operation at Fort Lewis, Tacoma. One of the most powerful pieces of evidence was a video, secretly recorded three days before his arrest, showing Anderson share information on troop strengths, tactics and methods of killing U.S. soldiers and destroying M1 Abrams tanks and other vehicles with undercover agents he believed were al-Qaida operatives. Anderson's arrest came just weeks before his unit, the 81st Armored Brigade, deployed for a yearlong assignment in Iraq.

God is requiring His people to arise as worshipping warriors. Chuck challenged the state to a once a week watch from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. from December 14 to March 21, 2004. “You will have breakthroughs that you will not have at any other time. You will gain revelation from the Lord. God says: ‘If you’ll rise up early with Me, if you’ll shake out the enemy, the enemy will be shaken out of this region’” There were 21 churches with corporate watches and over 100 individuals that recorded their watch day.

Pray for the increase of corporate worship gatherings across the state.

Pray for a greater hunger for His presence, in throne room worship. Worship that enthrones Jesus on the Land. Worship that transforms and purifies and opens our ears to hear revelation wisdom and understanding.

Continue to decree that the spiritual leaders will be visited by the Lord and all hindrances keeping them from fully hearing and following after the Holy Spirit will be broken.

Continue to declare “that the foundation, the Apostles, the Prophets, the Pastors, the Teachers, the Evangelists, will find their place in the order of God. Declare that we will pour forth a new foundation in Washington State.

Chuck also declared, “The angels are coming, the angels are coming, the angels are coming!”

On June 4 a small meteor streaked across Washington. The skies flashed daylight-bright at 2:40 a.m., followed by reverberations so fierce they shook walls and rattled windows. A meteor the size of a computer monitor plowed into the Earth's atmosphere traveling at a speed approaching 50,000 mph, creating a fireball that eclipsed the full moon. About 80 of University of Washington’s seismic stations recorded the event, which registered magnitude 1.6 on the earthquake scale — though the measure doesn't make much sense when applied to vibrations that come out of the sky. Witnesses reported seeing the one-to-two-second burst of light from as far east as Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, as far south as Tacoma, Washington and well into British Columbia, Canada. Most described the sound as a succession of booms, followed by a long rumble.

Declare in agreement with Prophet Bob Jones that this sign of heaven invading earth is the announcement of the release of angels into the northwest with a greater revelation of who Jesus Christ is and who we are in Him.

Two weeks later at an Unconditional Surrender Conference in Tri-Cities, SE Washington, Larry Randolph saw a large angel appear during John Paul Jackson’s Friday evening session. This angel blew on a large trumpet with a continuous blast lasting until mid-morning on Saturday. That afternoon Paul Keith Davis introduced a friend who just returned from Nigeria with an angel the Lord assigned for him to bring to the U. S. This angel is called “Breaker Revival”. He was released in the Northwest to go forth and break off everything that hinders us from revival.

Exactly three months prior to this, James Maloney, from Christ for the Nations, was in Everett, north of Seattle, and told of an angel the Lord assigned to him. His purpose was to release virtue to faith and cause the gift of faith to move amongst the people. As the angel imparted to Maloney and he ministered to every attendee of the conference fear, doubt and unbelief were broken off the people.

All things will be shaken; all hidden things will be exposed.
On September 23 hundreds of tiny earthquakes were reported at Mount St. Helens. Within days the earthquakes increased in frequency and intensity. Then there were several days of steam and ash eruptions. Tremors continued and indicated an upward movement of magma or explosive gases. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) continued to post a Level Three alert. That level of a volcano advisory indicates an eruption is probably imminent, within hours or days.

After 3 weeks of rumbling and buildup of the central dome, lava finally punched through to the surface building and birthing a new mountain dome. The mountain could still produce moderate-sized, explosive eruptions that could spread ash over surrounding communities and unleash mud flows, though not big enough to threaten any towns or structures, says USGS geologist Jon Major. "We expect to see more magma coming to the surface, but that doesn't mean we won't see explosive activity in the future," he said. During the morning meeting of December 15, 2003 Dutch Sheets shared the word “overshadow” that both he and Chuck were hearing from the Lord. He said that God wants to birth something in Washington. He is going to hover until it happens and He is going to release a deposit of life and bring forth. In Genesis 1 it talks about the earth being without form and void, void of life, no life in the cosmos yet, just chaos, desolation and disarray. Dutch saw pieces of a puzzle and a whirlwind from God come and pick up the pieces, causing them to fly around in a circle. This whirlwind is not to destroy, but to deal with the disarray and confusion over the state.

Dutch shared that we are dealing with a demonic structure that has somehow succeeded in creating an atmospheric condition that is conducive to disorder and something that has an ability to defile the things that are pure and causing fruitlessness. Some things that look good are not good. Some things that look like they are in order are not in God’s divine order.

Declare a dramatic shift and a cleansing of what is of man and not God.

Pray for a pressing in to meet with God in extended times of worship and quietness.

Pray for open hearts that will allow the Lord to bring up things hidden deep within, to expose that which is out of order.

Decree His divine order in your life, your church, your community and the State of Washington.

Decree the Word in Psalms 29 and release the prophetic voice of the Lord that breaks and births.

Declare a cleansing of the foundational belief mind-sets in the church of Washington State.

Declare revelation knowledge and understanding of the Word and anointing to move in the supernatural and see the harvest ripe NOW!

SIGNS: Whirlwinds in the natural
Seven tornados touched down in Washington State this year after not one in 18 years. The first two were reported April 27th - one at the northwestern state border near Canada and one east not far from Snoqualmie Pass. On May 19 one touched down near the Central Washington town of Wenatchee then on May 23 one touched down near the eastern border city of Spokane. On May 27 two touched down and did damage to barns in two southwestern rural towns of Tenino and La Center. The last one was sighted June 6 near Stanwood, which is between Seattle and the Canadian border. It is interesting that these locations encircle the greater Seattle area.

A GET MOTIVATED business seminar was held at Key Arena in Seattle August 23-24. Eddie Smith of US Prayer Center led an intercessory prayer team during this outstanding marketplace evangelistic outreach. Approximately 95% of the 18,000 attendees stayed through a session where Peter Lowe shared his testimony of faith in Christ and challenged each person to also put their faith in Him as Savior and Lord.

In the last 18 months, about 500 churches around the Northwest provided volunteers or donated money for the Just Give Me Jesus Revival Conference. On October 1 & 2 over 18,000 women gathered in the Seattle Key Arena as Ann Graham Lotz shared her experience of wanting a fresh encounter with Jesus. She brought a renewal of faith to thousands of women. Reports say about 3000 were saved or rededicated their lives to Christ.

It was also reported that during this gathering a woman collapse in the restroom. After an emergency medic team pronounced her dead, another woman who witnessed the collapsed commanded life to come back into the dead woman AND IT DID!

Evangelist Joyce Meyer's three-day revival at the Tacoma Dome from Oct 14-16 drew about 20,000 men and women and approximately 700 salvations were reported.

A Promise Keepers conference for Christian men is scheduled Oct. 22-23 at Safeco Field in Seattle.

Rising hunger in spiritual leaders
David Bryant came to the Pacific Northwest in October, 2003 with the message of the fullness of Christ’s supremacy, what the Church can become through Christ, and God’s plan for filling our region with His Son. A number of Christian leaders who attended Roundtables last October have indicated that they are hungry for more of the fullness of Christ, and they want others in their spheres of influence to be gripped and awakened by Christ’s supremacy. David is here this October to once again meet with leaders and plan for a January 2005 “CHRIST SUMMIT”. This will be an extended time for pastors and ministry leaders throughout the state to spend all day Thursday, Jan. 6 and the morning of Jan. 7 with David. Each participant will receive a copy of David’s new book, “Christ is ALL; A Joyful Manifesto on The Supremacy of God’s Son”, which includes a 12-week study on Christ for pastors and their congregations.

There is a cost in touching heaven to touch earth
On October 4, 2004 (47th anniversary of the Soviet launch of Sputnik) the privately built SpaceShipOne flew into suborbital space for the second time in five days, securing the $10 million Ansari X Prize. With pilot Brian Binnie at the controls, SpaceShipOne rocketed to a winning height of 367,442 feet (69.6 miles), setting a new altitude record for the craft and proving that private industry can build a viable vehicle for sending paying passengers to space. SpaceShipOne technology is currently owned by a Paul Allen company called Mojave Aerospace Ventures (MAV). Allen is the Washington State based Microsoft co-founder and bankrolled the design and building of SpaceShipOne to the tune of more than $20 million. The MAV team is led by research aircraft developer Burt Rutan, chief of Scaled Composites, based at the Mojave Spaceport in California.

A teen was found alive October 10 in the car she apparently crashed down a 200-foot embankment more than a week earlier. A volunteer searcher who said she had had several vivid dreams of a wooded area and heard the message, "Keep going, keep going," found the wrecked car in the trees. A Sergeant in the Sheriff’s department noted that in 24 years, he had never known of a person to survive eight days without food or water. It is being reported that the severe dehydration may have saved her life, reducing pressure on a blood clot on her brain. She is recovering from other serious injuries at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where a Healing Rooms Ministry was recently opened. Hospital administrators are so in awe of the miracles happening through the prayers of a staff member trained at Healing Rooms Ministry in Spokane that they are building a designated Healing Room off the Chapel.

Pray for the Church of Washington State to separate from worldliness and the fear of man and take hold of the truth in God’s Word regarding the commission to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” Mark 16:15-18.

Cleansing of the land
In May I was part of the Lewis and Clark Trail prayer drive team. After 17 days of travel across the nation addressing the very foundational roots of our nation and declaring Psalm 25 in song at almost every location, we arrived at Cape Disappointment Lighthouse on the Washington State coastline. I had the honor of declaring over a peace stone and renaming the area Haven of Hope.

On August 12, the opening of the Olympic Games in Athens, a team of USSPN WA leaders and intercessors joined worshipers in the state capital of Olympia. We declared Jesus Christ as the only one worthy of worship and renounced all that turns our eyes from Him. A few days later we worshiped and made declarations over Mt. Olympus and the other mountains named after Greek gods located in the Olympic International Park.

This team also identified with the international worship gathering in Santiago de Compostela, Spain on August 14. We gathered near James Island off the northwest coastline. Somewhere in this area a Spanish ship from Vancouver Island, Canada sent out an exploration team across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It was by order of the Pope and Papal Bull Decree that the world was divided between Spain and Portugal and explorations sent forth. A Catholic priest was usually with the explorations teams.

The only documentation is of a report by Father Juan Crespi in 1774 at Nootka Sound, “After the canoes had gone away and night had fallen, and we were all reciting the rosary of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, we again heard singing. This proceeded from another canoe, which drew near with the same ceremonies observed by the others. Seeing that no attention was paid to them, because we were at prayers, the people of the canoe began to cry out and continued shouting until such time as the daily recital of the rosary and special prayers to some saints were concluded and the hump of praise.” Later on he reported two Indians were invited to come on board the ship and as “they entered the cabin; we showed them the image of Our Lady. With astonishment they touched it with the hand and we understood that they were examining it in order to learn whether it were alive.” Towards the end of his report “The wind died away to a dead calm and thus we remained, waiting until the morrow to land for the purpose of setting up in the land the standard of the holy cross and taking possession of it in the name of Our Catholic Monarch whom God guards.

After two hours of worship the spirit of intercession and travail fell upon me as the heart of God for the souls lost due to this Queen of Heaven spirit gripped my heart. One of the team members made declarations and intercession in Spanish. We all cried out the command to LET GOD’S PEOPLE GO! There was an assurance of a shift in the heavenlies, especially concerning revival for the Native Americans in Washington.

Brief History of Washington State:
Before the coming of the Europeans, the Native American peoples inhabiting what is now the State of Washington included the Nez Perce, Spokane, Yakima, Cayues, Okanogan, Walla Walla, and Colville in the interior, and the Nooksak, Chinook, Nisqually, Clallam, Makah, Quinault and Puyallup in the coastal area.

The first American interested in the Pacific Northwest were merchants who came from Boston as early as the 1780’s. The Lewis and Clark expedition (1804-06) stimulated public interest, and in 1811 John Jacob Astor established a fur-trading post – Astoria – near the mouth of the Columbia River and a fort at the mouth of the Okanogan River. In 1818, the U.S. and Britain agreed to a ten-year period of joint occupancy of the Oregon County.

In 1846 the present U.S. – Canadian boundary was established, and Washington became part of the United States territory of Oregon two years later. When it was separated from Oregon in 1853, the new territory contained fewer than 4000 inhabitants and stretched from the Pacific Ocean to the crest of the Rocky Mountains. The first territorial governor, Isaac I. Stevens, moved quickly to extinguish Native American title to the land and to improve transportation, the two keys to rapid settlement and economic development. The treaties negotiated by Stevens in 1854-55 were an attempt to defuse tensions between natives and settlers, but for various reasons the treaty structure quickly deteriorated, and intermittent warfare took place between 1855 and 1858.

Completion of the Northern Pacific (1868) and Great Northern (1893) rail lines boosted Washington’s economy, and statehood in 1889 brought political stability, beginning a period of rapid growth that lasted through WW I. During that time the population increased from 75,000 to 1.2 million. Wheat growing and cattle raising in eastern Washington and lumbering and fishing in the western portions of the state were the main economic activities. The Boeing Airplane Company, founded during WW I, became the largest private employer in the state during and after WW II. Lack of diversification led to a series of boom-and-bust periods. By the mid-20th century, agriculture had made dramatic gains. Construction of huge dams provided irrigation and flood control, as well as cheap electric power, and led to the development of inland ports and increased river shipping. As the gateway to Alaska, Washington had been moving away from dependence on federal contracts and has encouraged new industries to develop and process Alaskan resources. During the 1960s, 1970s, and the 1980s the population increased rapidly-especially in the Seattle and Puget Sound areas. State authorities tried to encourage industrial growth while protecting the environment.

The character of the state: Washington’s reputation as a maverick state with citizens who tend toward radicalism in politics and social attitudes springs from its agrarian populist tradition and onetime strong radical labor movement. Both influenced the adoption of the initiative, referendum and recall, the open primary, and workers’ compensation and consumer protection laws. Perhaps the most pervasive elements determining the character of the state, however, have been the relative homogeneity of its population, a relaxed pace of life, and a philosophy of harmony with the natural environment. Many citizens have enjoyed Washington’s status as an isolated corner of the nation. This isolation was reflected in national politics, in which the state had little impact until after World War II, when Warren G. Magnusen, who represented Washington in the U.S. Senate from 1945 to 1981, and Henry M. Jackson, who served in the Senate from 1953 until his death, acquired considerable influence in health, consumer affairs, foreign policy, and defense.

Declare FREEDOM to every spiritual captive in Washington State.

Declare Psalm 91 and decree the Kingdom of God will manifest in the Church of Washington State during this critical time.

Declare a shift to righteousness and divine order in the government of the Church, the State and representation from the state to the nation.

For 2005 - Washington State Prayer Focus

During the “Piercing the Heavens” conference in Everett, WA this past October, Chuck Pierce reviewed the year 5765 which started September 2004. “Instead of the enemy plundering you over and over, you are to surround the enemy’s camp this year with violent praise.”

The number 60, Samekh, means repeat, cycle, to go around, to surround. The number 5 means there’s a wind beginning to blow through the heavenly realm, through a window of opportunity. It means Holy Spirit, or the breath of God, is starting to move back to the church with revelation.

* Pray that there will be an increase of regional worship gatherings and the Church of Washington State will break up old cycles and break out with the Breaker Anointing.

At the 50 State Tour Gathering in December, 2003 Dutch Sheets said, “There is coming a two-fold whirlwind of God into this region that is going to bring judgment against His enemies and against this thing that is over this state, but it is also going to be bringing the order and the life of God. The word of God is His seed.”

* Continue to “call forth the wind of God to break, to pull down the curses, the demonic assignments, the witchcraft, the defilement of the word of God, the pollution of the word of God.”
* Continue to “say that every unclean, defiled word that is in the atmosphere over Washington is going to be cleansed by the whirlwind of heaven.”

At that time Chuck said, “…I saw something, from Northern California, through Oregon, up through Washington, all the way into Vancouver, B.C.…you couldn’t see what was under you. It was like you had one level of foundation, but your foundation wasn’t deep enough. And the Lord said, ‘There’s a new wave coming. It will be both a wave of evil, that will try to affect that region, but it’s (also) a wave of my Spirit’ and He said, ‘They’ve not built the foundation in that area to handle the wave.’”

* Continue to declare as the Lord said, “that the wind will produce the wave and that we are paving the way for it. Declare that the foundation that needs to be built for what is ahead will be built from Northern California through Vancouver, B.C.”

Chuck also said that the Hebraic year 5766 began in October 2005. “This is a year of staking your claim in the midst of the whirlwind.” Dutch Sheets said, “All eyes will be on Washington. Well, it’s the whirlwind state and it’s the year of the whirlwind. Then you’ve got Oregon which was God’s choice of the state that would overthrow the Jezebel structure. There’s something major going on up here in the Northwest.”

On June 4, 2005 USSPN Washington and PacificMinistries of Portland hosted a Cascadia Consultation with leaders and intercessors from Vancouver, B.C., the greater Seattle area, greater Vancouver, WA/Portland area and Spokane as well as various smaller Eastern Washington locations. This was a time of worship, and expressing the desire to enter into covenant relationship according to John 17 so that the territorial spirit of Jezebel would be displaced.

* Declare that the Body of Christ in the “Oregon Territory” will pioneer a move of humility that expresses preferring and honoring one another that will lead to the overthrow of pride and independence.

Chuck said, “Washington will be in the focus of our nation for the next three years. This year 5766, Samekh Vav, God is sending you a tent peg or a stake so you can stake your claim right in the midst of your whirlwind, so your whirlwind does not overtake you.”

First, in the natural…I Cor. 15:46. On August 14, 2004 Dr. C. Peter Wagner held an International worship gathering in Santiago, Spain to counter the worship of the Queen of Heaven. That day the USSPN WA leaders and four Spokane intercessors went to La Push, WA not far from James Island. The northwest corner of the state and also the nation were staked. In the mid 1700's a Spanish ship staked out the land somewhere between this location and Neah Bay for Spain and the Catholic Church. 

* Declare that the Church in Washington will ride the wind of revelation and break out of error and man’s traditions.
* Declare that, in the midst of the enemy roaring in our face, we will roar back so that he will separate.
* Declare that the Lord will blow a new wind of strength on the Church of Washington
* Declare that the Kingdom of God will advance as a violent praising storm throughout Washington State and that we will not fear but be careful to hear the voice of the Lord in the storm.
* Decree that “God is going to stake the state of Washington and it’s going to come in His sovereign way this year. And all of those powers and principalities that think they’re ruling it this year, you wait till the Lord puts His stake in here.”

In December, 2003 Chuck said, “There is an evil ploy that will be devised to bring terror into this area that would stop you from moving in God’s power the way that He longs for you to move. So, the Lord says now, ‘You get in front, and you declare the order that’s coming. You gather together, you move forward.’”

In the 2004 state prayer focus we declared His light would expose all the hidden works of death and destruction. Twice in 2005 USSPN WA sent out prayer alerts to expose the four pathways in which the spirit of death and destruction wants to come into the Northwest and steal the promised harvest. In I Kings 21 the sons of Belial (meaning worthlessness, wickedness, destruction) brought accusation against Naboth. He was stoned to death and Ahab and Jezebel took his vineyard.

1) Terrorist Attack: Washington State opened the northwest gateway to the nation for the spirit of death and destruction to enter through presenting a mixed gospel, breaking many covenants and shedding innocent blood with the Native American people.

On October 4, 2005, Rosh HaShanah, seven Native American Leaders went to the White House and met with Mr. Ruben Barrales, Deputy Assistant to President Bush and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs to present to the President a “Proclamation of Forgiveness.” Dr. Flo Ellers (Tlingit/CherokeeTribes) of Washington State read the proclamation. Also present from Washington State was Rev. M. George Kallappa, Sr. (Makah Tribe), Superintendent of the American Indian Fellowship of the NW Ministry Network of Assemblies of God.

* Pray that this act will bring healing to the broken hearts and desperate peoples on all the reservations in the Northwest. (For information on Washington State Indian Tribes and Reservations for prayer see http://www.kstrom.net/isk/maps/wa/wamap.html#detail )
* Pray that it will add to the shift that began with Apostle Jay Swallow and the 30 other Native Americans that initiated forgiveness at Plymouth Rock.
* Pray that this will help clear the way for S.J. Res 15 Resolution of Apology to the Native Peoples to pass.

On October 20, 2005 Apostle Jay Swallow announced into the heavens the beginning of a reformation in the northwest states. He said, “Don’t try to understand it, and especially don’t criticize it. We call, now, into the heavens, we record this day, as the day of new beginnings. This day we have entered into a new covenant in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We ask you, God, to anoint this body of people, these native warriors, with the mission ahead, to regain, to clean up, and to bring back the glory of God to every reservation in every region in the northwest.”

Chuck declared, “Father, we say, from this northwest entry point, from this port, the ancient peoples and the host people to come through, we say; now there is a sound and the reversal of what has tried to disseminate (disinformation into) this land. Lord, we say there will be a cry of victory coming out of the northwest.”

2) Military Attack: On October 28, 2004 in Tri-Cities, WA during a Women’s Prayer Conference, the Lord spoke that we would reap what we sowed at Hanford Nuclear Facility regarding the bombing of Japan in 1945 if we did not repent for seeking man’s way rather than God’s way. The USSPN WA leaders were called for intercession and one was in St. Louis standing on the porch of the home of President Harry Truman who was Commander in Chief at that time. He stood in the gap with repentance and prayed that our governmental and military leaders of today would seek God’s ways in all they do. The following night 40 local women entered into repentance and intercession.

On October 20, 2005 Chuck Pierce said, “This actually will become a war center for our nation….God has chosen this area for a very peculiar time.”

* Pray for the military leaders, personal, and family members of the following installations:
Mc Chord Air Force Base, Fairchild Air Force Base, Yakima Army Training Facility, and Ft. Lewis Army Base which is home of three Stryker Brigades, Everett Navy Base, Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Keyport Undersea Warfare Research Station, and Bangor Trident Submarine Base which is the last active nuclear weapons depot on the West Coast and is the place of deployment for approximately 1,760 nuclear warheads. The base has nine Tridents including the newly commissioned secret research submarine, USS Jimmy Carter.

* Pray for the apprehension of a convicted naval aviation electrician who escaped from the brig on November 13. Upon returning from tour of duty in Afghanistan he was arrested for possessing stolen ammunition and illegally storing explosives.

3) Spiritual blindness and rejection of next move of the Holy Spirit: During a conference at a church in Seattle some intercessors discovered that a major church denomination, in 1949, held a General Assembly Council Meeting in this newly built church. The leadership of this denomination voted to reject the Latter Rain Movement that began in February 11, 1948 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and moved across the northwest. They rejected the five fold ministry, the restoration of worship and the Tabernacle of David, deliverance and healing. An intercessor prayed, “Lord, you are about to bring something into the earth. I pray that this time it will not be rejected.” Envy, strife and divisions are like the great dams across the Columbia River that stop the full release of the River of God.

* Pray that the whirlwind of God will continue to deal with every carnal and immature mindset. I Cor. 3:1-3
* Declare that the Holy Spirit’s wind is blowing away the old, the dead, the dry legalistic structures. Acts 2:1-4
* Declare that we are people that will stand in the midst of adversity and laugh loudly at our enemies…” You will be a Holy people that My enemies will fear…Arise and shine for My glory is upon you.” Is. 60: 1-5, 19-20 (From July 11, 2005 52 Day Prayer Focus)
4) Natural Disaster: On November 3, 1970, voters of Washington State liberalized the state abortion statue by passing Referendum 20. October 5 & 6, 2003 a Washington state couple began an annual “DAYS OF GRACE” Memorial and National Day of Atonement for the purpose repentance and honoring those who lost their lives through abortion and healing for those who have been touched by abortion. This initiative, along with many other ministries and individuals, has added to the bowls of prayers.
* Declare “That nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption (and gain an entrance) into the glorious freedom of God’s children.” Rom. 8:21 Amplified
During the Piercing the Heavens conference (Oct. 2005) Dutch Sheets shared one story after another on the ways the Lord arranged for him and others to “strike the mark” concerning the U.S. Supreme Court. Dutch read Job 36:26-Chapter 37:5 “by these storms, these lightning’s, these thundering, He judges peoples. He covers His hands with the lightning, and commands it to strike the mark. The word for “strike the mark’ is the Hebrew word for intercession, paga.”
After much corporate worship and intercession, the lightning of God struck and Dutch said, “I hear the Lord say, ‘I am coming to abort the abortion. I am going to reverse the trends of the past.’ I hear the Lord saying, ‘There has been a season in the past where what He was trying to do was aborted by the iniquitist patterns that take place in this region,’ But the Lord says, ‘I have come to break that off of you and it will not be aborted this time. I am putting you on a new path of life,’ the Lord says, ‘and this one will not be stopped. The move of My Spirit that is coming to this region will not be aborted this time. I am going to break through for you.’” The Lord says, “I have reversed the decrees, I have reversed the curses that have held you back and I say there is a fertility in the Spirit now that is here. There is an ability to break through, there is an ability to press through to completion and what I am coming to do will not be stopped again.” The Lord says, “You will go all the way this time, into the fullness of my outpouring.” He Has Aborted The Abortive Spirit That Hovered Over This Region. The spirit of death is broken off of you!”

Chuck said, “…we went past something that was set to stop God’s plan…The Woe Is Past! Lord, we say right now the woe in the Northwest was past. Father, we say that which was meant to bring total chaos and to stop what You are going to do is past.”

* Continue to declare, rejoice and thank God that He has aborted the abortive spirit and the spirit of death is broken off the state of Washington. Declare Psalm 24

During that time I heard voices saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ.” This is from Rev. 11:15. The verse before that says, “The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.”  On November 3, 2005– A Washington State Supreme Court judge ruled that the former lesbian partner of a child’s biological mother can be considered the “de facto parent” of the ten-year-old girl the mother conceived by artificial insemination. Justice James Johnson, dissenting from the majority opinion, condemned the court for its “judicial decree” that brought in a new method for determining who a child’s parent is. “Regardless of the various sexual orientation claims, the outcome must be that a mother has a fundamental right to make decisions for her child,” he stated. “The majority’s ruling fails to provide any protection for Britain's (the child’s Mother) fundamental constitutional right as a fit mother to make decisions concerning the upbringing of her own daughter. Worse, in my view, the majority here looks beyond a detailed and complete statutory scheme adopted by the Washington Legislature and creates by judicial decree a new method for determining parentage.” Justice Richard B. Sanders also dissented.

* Pray that this case will be heard and overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
* Pray for the Washington State Supreme Court: Chief Justice Gerry L. Alexander, Associate Chief Justice Charles W. Johnson, Justice Barbara Madsen, Justice Richard B. Sanders, Justice Bobbe J. Bridge, Justice Tom Chambers, Justice Susan Owens, Justice Mary E. Fairhurst, Justice James M. Johnson

During the 2004 gubernatorial election in Washington State Dino Rossi (Republican) came out ahead of Christine Gregoire (Democrat) by 261 votes. The Secretary of State ordered a machine recount which reduced Rossi's lead down to 42 votes. Then, the Democrats asked the state to conduct a manual hand recount in which many counties discovered votes that hadn't been counted earlier, including the liberal stronghold of King County (location of Seattle). The GOP filed suit to prevent King County from counting the ballots, but the Supreme Court ruled against them. The election was certified at the end of December, with Christine Gregoire winning by 129 votes. Dino Rossi filed suit and on June 6th, 2005 Chelan County Judge John Bridges rejected the central charge of fraud. Judge Bridges did subtract the overall count of hundreds of illegal votes presented by both sides, but, he goes on to say that overturning the election would "constitute the ultimate act of judicial egotism and judicial activism" and thus confirms the election for Christine Gregoire. Dino Rossi did not appeal to the state Supreme Court which officially ended the election contest.

* Pray for the continued exposure of incompetence, corruption and fraud in the elections system and state and county and city government.

Agree and declare the Word of the Lord given in July 11, 2005 52 Day Prayer Focus: “I am opening seats in Courts that will favor My People. I will plant My faithful ones, My true ones, those that are not intimidated by the liberalization of the adversary. I AM ready to contend with Leviathan. I am changing nations. In this nation, I will begin in Florida and then shake California. I will realign Minnesota and uncover in Harlingen. I will awaken New York and release fire in Phoenix. I will rearrange Seattle and open gates in Savannah….I will release authority and demonstrate My power in signs and wonders, miracles and diverse anointings.”

The first prophetic word that came forth at the Pierce the Heavens conference in Everett, WA on October 20, 2005 was from Chuck Pierce declaring the fire to burn, for it to ignite in us, catch fire and that Washington State is the smoke Signal to the nation.

The word signal in Hebrew is ‘owth. A sign, flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence or mark, miracle, token.
The word first appears in scripture in Gen. 1:14 “And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for SIGNS, and for seasons, and for days, and years.’” The word, light, in Hebrew is morah and means a luminous body, brightness, cheerfulness.

The next place we find it is in Ex. 3:12. In the KJV it is interpreted token. This chapter has to do with the Lord appearing to Moses in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush and commissioning Moses as His instrument to bring His people out of Egypt. Moses says “Who am I,” and the Lord says that He will be with him and the signal will be that when he brings them out, Moses will serve God upon that very mountain.

* Pray that the Church of Washington State will rise up with the fire of God and war against the darkness in her midst and worship the Lord in spirit and truth.
* Pray that we will overcome the accuser of the brethren by greater revelation of the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony of His goodness and justice and by not loving our lives to the death. Rev. 12:11

Chuck shared that the anti-Christ force will get very strong in these next three years. God says, “I’m going to have a people who know how to process revelation. I’m having peoples from every nation rise up, worship together. When you put a stake down, you’re gaining victory under heaven over the enemy structure that’s in heaven. Over these next few weeks we are in a divine shifting time and I say this to the whirlwind state, get ready for the whirlwind will intensify here from this state.

The first prophecy I gave here yesterday morning about the smoke signals coming out of Washington and going up, and the Lord said, ‘I have chosen you to be my signal for the war ahead. Not only will you be my signal for the war, but you will be my victory standard in days ahead.’ And the Lord would say to you, ‘Quit worrying about the earthquake! Quit worrying about all of that here!’ The Lord says, ‘I am teaching you to stand in the midst of the shaking ahead.’”

History
The origin of civilization in the Oregon country was due to missionary spirit and enterprise, and this missionary spirit was aroused by the action of the Indians themselves. Marcus Whitman, a medical missionary and Christian patriot, who settled near Walla Walla amongst the Cayuse Indians, was the man who saved the Oregon Territory and assured it would be a part of the United States.

In 1832 a council of chiefs sent a delegation of four Nez Perces chiefs over the mountains to St. Louis to ask for teachers to be sent to their tribe to instruct them in what the Great Spirit taught in the book from heaven. Before their return, one of the Indian chiefs spoke at a banquet of their failure to find that which was the object of their journey. This speech was a Macedonian cry of “Come over and help us. The American Board of Missions sent Rev. Samuel Parker and Marcus Whitman, M.D. to the Oregon Territory in 1835. Whitman returned to the East and encouraged missionaries to come minister to the Indians in the West saying that “If good men do not occupy these stations, bad men will and do great harm.”

In 1836 Marcus Whitman and other pioneers set out for the Northwest. Taking a wagon across the Rockies and into Oregon was considered impossible because the Hudson Bay Company had circulated stories that the mountains were impassible to wagons wanting to keep the Oregon Territory under British control. Not believing that claim, Whitman’s wagon turned out to be the very implement upon which the fate of Oregon would turn.

In late 1842 Whitman learned that the Hudson Bay Company planned to bring in English settlers which would result in British Sovereignty in the territory. Amidst severe weather and travel conditions Whitman traveled 4,000 miles back to the East Coast to meet with President Tyler, Secretary of State Daniel Webster and other government leaders to plead his cause for Oregon. He urged them to, “Immediately terminate the Treaty of 1818 and 1828 and extend the laws of the United States over Oregon.” Having risked his status with the American Missions Board and his life by going across the country in the dead of winter, Whitman was compelled to enter the political arena over the Oregon Territory and saw it as his patriotic duty.

The President and Secretary agreed that ownership of Oregon likely depended upon who would settle it first. Though Whitman’s representations of the Oregon Territory were in direct contradiction to others, including the Governor of the territory, President Tyler said Whitman’s frozen limbs were sufficient proof of his sincerity, and his missionary character was sufficient guarantee of his honesty, and he would, therefore, as President, rest upon them and act accordingly. If the Doctor could establish a wagon route through the mountains to the Columbia River, hitherto pronounced impassable, he would use his influence to hold Oregon. Whitman led a company of a thousand from Missouri to Oregon in 1843. He also wrote and presented to members of the government a proposed bill for the organization of Oregon. It greatly influenced the development of posts on the Oregon Trail, the extension of American law into the Northwest, and the founding of the states of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

With the nearly 1000 new settlers, the Americans outnumbered the English three to one. In June of 1846 the United States and England entered into a treaty that set the boundary line for the northwest at latitude 49 degrees. A territorial government went into effect in 1849. In 1859 Oregon was admitted as a state into the Union. Washington was admitted on November 11, 1889 and Idaho in 1890.

Whitman was compelled to enter the political arena over the Oregon Territory considering his patriotic duty more important than his backing by the American Missions Board. If Whitman had waited for the next year and warm weather as his friends had demanded and he had not insisted, “I must go and now,” history would have been altered. God rules in the minds and hearts of men as He rules nations. Obedience to God was paramount even in the face of extreme difficulties and opposition.
